About Wordle In One

A small daily challenge built around one satisfying question: which word fits every clue?

Wordle In One is an independent game inspired by the idea of solving a word puzzle from a single colored starting word. It offers a shared set of five daily puzzles and an Unlimited mode for more practice. You can play without creating an account.

Our version of the game

There are 2,545 clue-and-color puzzles in the current library. The daily selection is generated consistently for each UTC date, so players see the same set. Unlimited uses the same library and lets you request a fresh puzzle whenever you want one.

The rules accept any word in our dictionary that matches the clue exactly. This makes the task about checking the evidence, rather than finding an arbitrarily preferred answer. Unlimited guesses let you work through a difficult pattern at your own pace.

Independent from NYT

This website is not created, operated, or endorsed by The New York Times. Our playable daily and Unlimited puzzles are separate from NYT’s Wordle and Wordle In One bonus puzzles. The NYT answers guide is a separate reference with a clearly dated edition and a link to the official game.

Your results

The homepage shows your saved results alongside facts about the game. Your browser keeps a personal record of puzzles started and solved, first-try solutions, average tries, and daily streaks. The odds guide explains the mathematics behind a first-guess win, with a calculator for trying different assumptions.

Word sources and corrections

The accepted-word dictionary includes the open-source word-list project, based on the Letterpress word list. License and attribution details are available in our word-data attribution file. If a word seems incorrect, a clue is confusing, or a page needs a correction, send us a note.
